5-Day Photography Course @ Rich Mix, East London
19th - 23rd August 2013
11am - 4.30pm
In this 5 day course you will learn how to take great digital photos, and
how to use photography to speak out and be heard in your community
and beyond. You will leave with copies of your best photos, including a
studio self-portrait, and all the photos you take in the week on a DVD.
The week will include workshops by a spoken word artist from Lookout's
friends at lyrix Organix to help you develop messages to acompany your
photos, and maybe discover a new talent for performance!
A street artist from KngLAD will join the group towards the end of the week to share some skills and introduce an alternative form of creative expression, while helping bring an exciting element to how the photos are showcased in the exhibition,which will run throughout September in Rich Mix’s mezzanine gallery, to be seen by thousands of visitors. Photos will also be shown on the Lookout website.

Come along for a one-day taster in digital photography, and if you enjoy it sign up for the 5-day Lookout photography course and hone your photojournalism skills!
The one-day taster day will cover the basics of taking better digital photographs, and an introduction to studio portraiture.
All participants will receive an 8”x10” print of their favourite photo from the day to take away. Participants will also learn about the Lookout project and what to expect if they sign up to the full 5-day course later in August.

Come along to our Central Glasgow pop-up exhibition in collaboration with the awesome SomewhereTo_ (who help young people find free spaces to do the things they love). See photos by young people from Scotland and across the UK, and have your portrait taken - or learn how to take a portrait - in our pop-up photo studio.
